1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Arc ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Arc is an AI-powered fitness and nutrition coaching platform that provides:

• Personalized workout plans and training guidance
• Nutrition tracking and meal planning assistance
• Form feedback via photo/video analysis
• Proactive coaching via SMS and app notifications
• Integration with wearable devices for activity tracking

3. Medical Disclaimer

3.1 Not Medical Advice

Arc is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Arc's AI provides general fitness and nutrition guidance based on exercise science research and your personal data. This information is for educational purposes only.

3.2 Consult Your Physician

You agree to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before:

• Starting any exercise program
• Making significant changes to your diet
• Taking any supplements or medications
• If you have any pre-existing health conditions

3.3 PAR-Q+ Acknowledgment

By completing the PAR-Q+ health screening during onboarding, you acknowledge that:

• If you answered "YES" to any PAR-Q+ questions indicating potential health risks, you have obtained medical clearance from your physician before using Arc's exercise features
• If you answered "NO" to all questions, you believe yourself to be currently healthy and ready for physical activity
• You will stop exercising immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, severe shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms
• Arc's AI cannot detect or predict medical emergencies, and you remain responsible for monitoring your own health and safety

3.4 Stop If You Experience Symptoms

You agree to stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention if you experience:

• Chest pain or severe shortness of breath
• Dizziness, fainting, or loss of consciousness
• Severe joint pain or acute injury
• Irregular heartbeat or heart palpitations
• Any other concerning symptoms

4. Nutrition Guidance Disclaimer

4.1 General Wellness Only

Arc provides general nutrition information for fitness and wellness purposes. Arc's AI is not a registered dietitian and cannot provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).

4.2 Not for Medical Conditions

Do NOT use Arc's nutrition features for:

• Managing diabetes, kidney disease, or other medical conditions requiring therapeutic diets
• Diagnosing nutritional deficiencies
• Treating eating disorders or disordered eating patterns
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding nutrition planning (consult an OB-GYN and RD)

4.3 Eating Disorder Screening

If your SCOFF screening indicates potential disordered eating, Arc will limit nutrition features to performance-focused guidance only and will not provide weight loss recommendations. You agree to seek care from a qualified eating disorder specialist if needed.

5. AI Limitations & Accuracy

5.1 AI Is Not Perfect

You acknowledge that Arc's AI can make mistakes, including:

• Recommending exercises that don't match your goals
• Misjudging your recovery needs or nutrition targets
• Incorrectly estimating macros from meal descriptions or photos
• Missing contraindications for your specific health conditions

5.2 User Responsibility

You are always in control. You decide whether to follow Arc's recommendations. If something doesn't feel right, trust your judgment and consult a professional.

5.3 Data Accuracy

Nutrition data from meal logging (especially photo analysis) is estimated and may not be 100% accurate. Wearable device data (heart rate, calories burned) has inherent measurement variability. Use Arc's data as a guide, not absolute truth.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information during onboarding and throughout use of the Service
• Update your health information if your medical status changes
• Use Arc in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws
• Not use Arc for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Not attempt to reverse engineer or extract Arc's AI models
• Not share your account credentials with others

7. Privacy & Data

Your use of Arc is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

By using Arc, you consent to:

• Collection of health and fitness data (workouts, meals, check-ins, wearable data)
• Use of your data to personalize Arc's AI coaching
• Storage of your data in secure databases (Supabase with encryption)

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal data to third parties
• Use your data to train underlying AI models (your data stays private)
• Share your health information without your consent

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Use at Your Own Risk

You use Arc at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arc and its creators disclaim all liability for:

• Injuries sustained during exercise or physical activity
• Adverse health effects from following Arc's nutrition guidance
• Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in Arc's recommendations
• Technical failures, data loss, or service interruptions
• Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

8.2 Maximum Liability

In no event shall Arc's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim (or $100 if using the free tier).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arc, its creators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of Arc after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Arc at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], without regard to conflict of law principles.
